Bird watching Experience on the Nile Waters in search of the Shoebills, Africa’s endemic and highly endangered bird species that live only in marshy places. Uganda’s most sought-after bird. Like all birds, shoebills are a descendant of dinosaurs. Their beaks are massive shaped like shoes.
Itinerary
Arrival
Day 1
We shall pick you up at Entebbe International Airport on your day of arrival, transfer you to your booked hotel in Entebbe for a night stay.
On the following day morning, we shall pick you from the hotel at 7:30 am so that we take our 40 minutes drive to Mabamba Swamp at the shores of lake Victoria in search of the Shoebill Stork. If you are lucky we might make some interesting sightings of birds along the way. When reaching Mabamba swamp we go out in small boats called canoes to search for the Rare Shoebill stork, lesser jacana, African pygmy-goose, whistling ducks if its the right season the blue swallow, blue breasted bee eater, Papyrus gonolek plus many more aquatic birds of Uganda. Hopefully you can finish the experience off with having made a sighting of the Great shoebill stork. We shall drive back to Entebbe for for a hot lunch on us.
We shall then transfer you back to Entebbe International Airport where our trip ends.
