5-Day Gorilla Trekking and Wildlife Queen Elizabeth NP

Overview

On this Safari we take you on a journey South Western Uganda to track down the endangered Ape species Silver Back Gorillas in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, we also take you on a wildlife experience in the Queen Elizabeth National Park which is understandably Uganda’s most popular tourist destination with its famous Big 4 out of 5 Game drive like the Ishasha tree-climbing lions.

Itinerary

Arrival

• You’ll be collected from the airport.
• Accommodation before the tour starts can be arranged for an extra cost.

Day 1

 On your day of arrival, we shall pick you up from Entebbe International Airport.
Transfer from Entebbe to Bwindi Impenetrable national park a drive of about 8-9 hours to Kisoro town in southwestern Uganda. The drive is through the Masaka Mbarara road and our guide will make a stopover at the equator for a photo moment and at Igongo cultural center for a hot lunch before driving direct to Kisoro town through Kabala town. You will travel through different terrines of our beautiful country here we mean planes, hills and down in Kisoro you will see the great Virunga mountains shared by Uganda Congo and Rwanda, The beautiful corners and Kisoro hills will make your drive a memorable one before descending down to the cold Kisoro town. Here your guide will drive you to your lodge for a refreshing dinner and evening, he will also brief you on what tomorrow will hold and how to get well prepared for the tracking the next day.

Day 2

 Tracking day is always an early rise of about 7:30 am so that we are at the briefing point by 8:00 am when the site guides will give all trackers a briefing. A site guide at Bwindi Impenetrable national park will then guide us through the rules and regulations, a helper for our bags will be invited to help you with your bag at an extra cost if you need them before you set out to look for the gorillas in the wild. Tracking may take about a while day depending on where the gorillas are feeding from and once you find them, you have about 1 hour with the gorillas before walking back to the briefing point. You will be given a packed lunch to enjoy while in the wild, after watching the gorillas you will be taken to the Batwa community for the Batwa experience thereafter our guide will drive you back to the lodge for refreshing and reflecting on how the day was too.

Day 3

On this day you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park a 4-5 hour drive from Kisoro town. This is still in south western Uganda. We shall be driving direct to our lodge for some days rest as We shall have an early lunch in Kabala town then drive to Kasese district where we find queen Elizabeth national park. We expect to have a change of scenery while in Kasese as compared to Kisoro and Kabala.

Day 4

 We shall have an early rise about 7:00 am and we shall carry our breakfast to the game drive. With an early rise we stand chances of seeing the lions, leopards and other animals out before they get to the shed once the sun is out, we also stand chances of seeing lots of birds at sunrise as this is also the birders haven. We stand chances of seeing different species of antelopes and there mating grounds, hippos, herds of buffaloes and later in the afternoon we shall drive to Mweya safari lodge canteen for a hot lunch before we go for our boat cruise. At the cruise, we stand chances of seeing lots of animals having and afternoon stroll by the water banks like crocodiles, hippos, elephants, buffaloes, and other grazers taking some water by the banks, lots of birds like cormorants, pelicans, fish eagles and lots more. Our guide will then drive us through the communities around the park before heading back to the lodge.

 Day 5

On this amazing day when we end our tour with an amazing adventurous drive from Kasese via Fort Portal town to Entebbe. We shall have a hot lunch in fort portal town as we enjoy the beautiful tourist city of the Toro Kingdom.

We shall take you back to Entebbe International Airport.
